Week 1 / Day 3

Today went smoothly, actually. I woke up at 9AM (figured out how to set the silly alarm clock last night) to find that I was the only one awake. At least, I thought I was the only one awake. All the doors were closed and Trinket was running around outside, without a care in the world. It was strange, standing in the empty living room in complete silence. Dad is usually up very early, so I questioned if he had left to Grandma's or not, but upon inspecting the living room window, I found that his car was still there and he was fast asleep. I was bored, immediately, so I simply went back to bed. I didn't really want to bother Kenzie, since I woke her up last night accidentally, and I figured she was still asleep... Turns out she was actually awake and writing, her door was just closed. Go figure.

I woke up again around 945AM and proceeded to call the shelter where Trinket would be able to get her shot. The shelter explained to me that they didn't really havea clinic on their facilities, and that they only did the shots when the veteranarian was there... Which should be tomrrow between 9AM and noon. They asked that I call and confirm that the vet had actually arrived before I headed down there, so that's the first thing on my agenda tomorrow morning.

Well, Dad cooked us some eggs and I proceeded to empty the dishwasher and put the dishes in the sink as well as begin to reload the dishwasher. Mackenzie and I ate breakfast and found that we had no ciggarettes left, so we got dressed and headed down the the tobacco shop in Espanola. They were supposed to be tax-free there, but the prices seemed to be the same. I guess cigarrettes here are more expensice than in Colorado. Nice.

Even though there is only one main road we got lost on our way back to Dad's house. It's embarrassing really, but we had passed the road we were supposed to turn on and had to turn around to get back home. I think we went at least 5 minutes out of our way. Haha! Upon our return, Kenzie and I listened to some music, introducing eachother to bands and musicians we never heard of. It was fun.

As soon as that was done, we decided to take a walk down to the Rio Grande River. We saw a couple of interesting things along the way. A toilet, an abandoned trailer, a park bench and even an outhouse! It was sad, you could totally tell we were raised in the city, by the time we actually figured out which way to go, we were completely covered in Milkweed thorns. Strange, even though I am extremely allergic to milkweed, my allergies didn't flare up once during our entire hike. Trinket seemed to love every minute and even ran in and out of the river. We admired the view for a while before we decided to head back to the house.

Trinket is really starting to worry me, even though she is starting to get a little bit of a belly now. It's barely noticeable, but it's there. What's getting me worried is the fact that she seems to sleep so much more these days. She's having a lot of nightmares too. Her fur is still falling out a little and she's not chewing on things. I'm wondering if she's on good behavior because she's sick? I don't know and I won't know until I get paid and can have a professional look at her. Even if we take her to get her shots tomorrow, I know the vet is going to recommend that I bring her into their office so they can get a better look at her. Pray for her, please.

Well, we had corndogs for dinner. Haha. Nothing really exciting about that. I started on my story, "The Beginning" again, I have about a page and a half of it written. I'll give myself more time to write tomorrow. Mackenzie and I are probably going to head down to Walmart tomorrow to buy some Silk milk so she can have some cereal for breakfast. My car has a quarter of a tank left, so it looks like our plans to travel down south are gunna have to be posponed. That's a little sad, honestly. Good news? Kenzie was reimbursed her money, so at least she can spend some this weekend. I'm planning on calling Rena up and see if we can hang at her house in Alberqurque this weekend. Iono, though, so we'll see.

I'm going to call that place where I'm hoping to get the job tomorrow, and hopefully if I bug them enough they'll hire me. I'll keep you updated on that. I guess that for now I'll just seek employment elsewhere. The nogt havinga job thing is scary and I'm going crazy not working. How weird is that? Now that I can relax, I just don't want to...
