Well, around 1030AM, I was woken up by my Dad telling me that he had to get to Santa Fe for a bank appointment at 12PM. I had looked for some healthcare jobs on Craigslist last night, and there was one in Santa Fe that I was extremely interested in, so I jumped out of bed and asked him to "Wait for me!" (Haha, get it Athina?). I hopped in the shower and was ready to go by 11. Mackenzie didn't want to run errands, so she stayed at the house. We had to stop by my Grandma's house first, to fax some papers for Mackenzie and to get some copies of the reference letters I recieved from Penny and Suzanne. The fax machine gave us some trouble, so we didn't wind up leaving Grandma's house until 11:45. Needless to say, we hadn't even hit Santa Fe and Dad was already late for his appointment, so we wound up hitting the place I wanted to apply for a job first.
What is this "job" I'm hoping for? Well, it's in the Department of Human Resources, doing exactly what I was doing in Colorado. Exciting, right? They're a bit stricter at this place, requiring a minimum age of 21 and a minimum of 3 years of driving history. Well, I qualify for both. When I got there, the boy at the front desk (I think his name was Dan) said they weren't hiring anymore, but I insisted on getting an application anyway. While I was filling out my application, there was a boy there doing the same thing, and this lady came by to ask us if we needed any help. We both said we were doing fine and then the lady inquired us about our ages. The boy was 19, so she immediately told him that he didn't qualify, appologized for his inconvienence and shredded his application. I just smiled at her and told her that she had nothing to worry about since I was 23 and I've had my liscence since I was 16. The bad part about filling out my application was the fact that I couldn't remember the phone numbers to any of my jobs except for Ridge, and I informed the lady of this... She took my application and gave it a quick look over then beamed at me. "I know you're not hiring," I said when I saw her smiling at me, "but I do hope you hold me in conciteration when you are available to hire more people.
Oh, I'm sure we can find a spot for you!" She exclaimed, and began to ask "Team Managers" if they had room in their areas to place me. Ha! "Don't worry about the phone numbers dear, follow me." She said, then led me to her office where she proceeded to hand me a card. "Get those numbers for me, and I'll place them in your application for you." The woman, according to her card, is a Manager of Human Resources. I really hope I get this job.<
After we were done with that, we continued out to Dad's bank where he had his meeting and we left again. From there, Dad took me to a Petco where we tried to find a muzzle for Trinket, but the shop had sold out. Weird, huh? After we left Petco, we went to a store called "ReStore" where you can buy things to fix up homes for less than half their origonal value. After we were done there, we went to GoodWill, but their parking lot was full, so we skipped the store. We hit up another Segunda(sp?) then decided we were hungry. We stopped at McDonalds for some grubbage and grabbed some for Mackenzie for when we returned. When we were done with that, we hit up a Mall, hoping to find a Petsmart, but no luck. Turns out the Petsmart was across from where we were, we'll try again tomorrow I think. After that, we stopped at a Family Dollar, stocked up on some supply, then headed home.
When we returned we brought back a broom handle we had purchased to my Grandma, because she is knitting some horse heads to put on those for my little cousins. Cool, right? She's so good with that artsy stuff, I really envy that. I'm debating on asking her to teach me so I can do cool stuff like that when I'm married and have children. Iono yet, so we'll see. Then it was Homeword Bound! LOL! We pulled into Dad's driveway to see that my Uncle Ernie was already there, with his bulldog, Woodrow. The dogs were running around like crazy things playing like it was the last day they would ever be able to do that. We brought the stuff in, and I immediately began to look for the numbers to my past employers. Once I got them, I called the lady and left the numbers on her voicemail. I hope that the fact that I called after they had closed isn't counted against me...
I gave Mackenzie her food, and my Uncle Ernie was surprised to find that someone else was in the house all along. LOL. Mackenzie has been pretty shy over the last few days. Well, nothing really exciting to report after that. Uncle Earnie was trying to show us how to make a homemade muzzle for Trinket, but Trinket is too smart for that. She kept taking them off, no matter how tight we made it. Dad and I know that we have no choice but to buy a professionally made one now.
Oh, I think Trinket as Dog Mange... Dog Mange are mites that live under the skin and can cause lots of skin irritation... It's also known as Scabies... Easily treatable though, especially since I think we caught it early. She might also have Ringworm and allergies... Thank God the check I'm getting is gunna be semi-big... I have a large vet bill to look forward to. HOWEVER, I am able to get the 3 shots she needs for 25 dollars, since I am now a resident of Rio Arriba county. Yay! I may even be able to get Trinket a friend, since adoption is only 60 dollars here. It was depressing seeing all the dogs and puppies the shelter had... They looked like they had been very abused, and the oldest animal was 2 years old. They were all so young!
We gave Trinket some of her ear medication (had to buy a new bottle yesterday since I forgot her origonal medication in Colorado). Took Mackenzie and I nearly an hour to get it in...but I think we figured out a trick to get it to go smoother tomorrow.
Destract the Trinket with People Food. Duh! Why Didn't I think of this before?!
Anyway, that pretty much puts us up to date. I'm gunna be going to bed in an hour or so, so I'm gunna gut this off now. Thanks for reading.
